Yes, absolutely! The easiest way to divide your filtered water between your faucet and another appliance is to tee the blue product water line. Continue reading below for instructions!
Parts Needed:
- 3/8" Quick Connect Tee
- 3/8" Hose (available from manufacturer)
- Adaptor for Ice Maker connection, if applicable
Before You Start
- Purchase a hose tee with quick connect ports. These are the same style ports you see on your reverse osmosis manifold, to allow easy install and removal of hoses. The tee should connect to 3/8" outside diameter hose.
- Please keep in mind that your ice maker will refill periodically, which will cause the reverse osmosis system to drain water and make slightly more noise than normal faucet use.
Instructions
1. You'll want to start by turning the cold water supply OFF to your system and close the RO faucet.
2. Now, you'll cut the blue product line where you plan to install the hose tee. Install the tee by pushing both ends of the blue hose into the ports.
3. Measure the distance you need between the tee and your ice maker connection. Go ahead and cut the new 3/8" hose to your desired length, leaving a few extra inches for room.
4. Insert one end of the new hose into the tee and attach the other end to the ice maker connection. You may need an adaptor depending on your refrigerator setup.
5. At this time you'll want to check that all hoses are secure.
6. You're ready to turn the cold water supply back onto the system and wait a few minutes for pressure to build. Then, open/turn on the faucet to test for water flow. If flow is present, your ice maker will also have water reaching it. Nice work! You're done!
