Your diaphragm acts as a gatekeeper for water production - opening and closing depending on the storage tank volume. Please follow the instructions below when checking or replacing your diaphragm.
Tools Needed:
Hex Screwdriver
Good to Know
Your auto shut-off is a series of diaphragms that shift with the pressure inside your unit. When your storage tank is full, the pressure closes the diaphragm and stops water flow through the system. When you use water, the pressure goes down in the tank, opening the diaphragm and allowing more filtered water production.
Replacement Steps
Follow the steps below to replace:
1. Turn the feed water off to your system (or remove the Prefilter).
2. Empty the storage tank by turning on the filtered faucet and letting it run until empty.
3. Remove the six (6) screws that hold the Auto Shut-off Cover onto the Manifold.
4. Remove the upper Diaphragm, Plunger, Spacer Ring, and lower Diaphragm.
5. Reassemble with the new internal pieces, starting with the lower diaphragm.
6. Reattach the cover and screws. Turn the water back on to your system (or reattach the Prefilter) and watch for leaks over the next few hours.
