Replacing the Valve Head is a multi-step process of disconnecting and reconnecting parts. It may sound intimidating but don't worry - we'll go through this together. Let's get started!

Step 1 - Depressurize & Bypass
1. First, you'll need to turn the main water off in your home and open a nearby water faucet, let the water run until it stops to relieve pressure in your plumbing.
2. Unplug your system’s power cord from the outlet.
3. You'll need to bypass the unit by pushing the handle in on the back. This will stop water from coming in or out of the unit while you work.
Step 2 - Disassemble the Unit
1. Go ahead and lift the top cover off your system. You can do this by unhooking the back, near the inlet and outlet ports. At this point you'll disconnect the electronic connections:
- Motor – Unplug thick black and red wires at the clear plastic connection piece
- Switch – Unplug the white plastic connector at end of orange and green wires
2. Once the electronics are disconnected, you should now be able to remove the top cover of your unit. Keep all the wires connected to the control board still. Place the cover to the back or side of the unit.
3. You'll need to remove the black C-clips from the filter/bypass connection. Pull one side of the black plastic C-clip away from the unit, and slowly roll it towards the other side to remove.
***If the clips seem stuck, slowly and gently rock the unit back and forth slightly while applying pressure to the clip as described above to free them.
4. Now you should be able to pull your filtration system away from the bypass assembly.
5. Go ahead and disconnect the Drain hose by pulling the black clip up and out on the right-hand side of the valve head.
6. At the neck of the tank, you'll need to remove the large white clamps by unhooking the retainer clips that hold them together.
7. With both hands on the valve head, wiggle it side to side as you pull it up and off.
Step 3 - Reassemble the Unit
Let's get the unit put back together.
1. Check the position of the riser tube O-ring. It should sit about ¼ inch down from the top of the riser tube.
2. Grab the new valve head, carefully place it onto the riser tube and push down until it rests on the tank below.
3. You can go ahead and put the large white tank clamps back on and secure them with the clips.
4. Move your filtration system back and connect to the bypass assembly. Attach the black C-clips.
5. You can reattach the drain hose to the head now.
6. On the valve head, reconnect the wires to the Motor and Switch. The switch connection should have one exposed terminal/prong.
7. Now you can go and reopen the main water supply.
8. At the back of the unit, take the system off bypass by pulling the handle back OUT. At this step, you'll want to watch for any leaking.
9. Set the top cover back on.
10. Almost finished! You'll need to run a manual advance check. On the screen, go ahead and hold the Clean button until you hear the motor turn on, then let go. You should see a Clean or Recharge message on the screen.
11. Press the Clean button once to advance to the next cycle. You'll want to repeat this each time the motor stops until the flashing indicator on the screen disappears, and the home screen returns. Once it's back to the home screen, you're done!
