Cloudy water from your RO system is likely a result of expired filters or filters that have not been throughly rinsed during installation. Take a look at our breakdown below to learn more.
Filter Age
New filters can give your RO water a cloudy look for the first couple days. This is becuase there are still tiny air bubbles being rinsed out of the filtration media. To test this, you can fill a glass of water and watch the air bubbles disappear after a minute or two. This is normal and should go away after a few days of use.
Filter Rinse
It is crucial that you follow the rinsing or purging process after installing new filters. If your filters are not properly rinsed, they can produce cloudy water for weeks after installation due to air and loose carbon being flushed through the system.
