Do you need to replace the mineral tank in your Central Water Filtration System? Don't worry, we're here to help and we'll be with you each step of the way. Let's get started! Keep in mind - the mineral tank may be heavy so be prepared when removing it.

Step 1 - Depressurize & Disassemble
1. Turn the main water off in your home and open a nearby water faucet to relieve pressure in your plumbing.
2. Unplug your system’s power cord from the outlet.
3. Bypass the unit by pushing the handle IN on the back. This will stop water from coming in or out of the unit while you work.
4. Take the top cover off your system by unhooking the back, near the inlet and outlet ports. Place the cover to the back or side of the unit, being careful not to disconnect any wires.
5. Disconnect the electronic connections from the top of the softener (pictured below). The Wire Harness will be connected to the control board. You can leave that one connected.
- Motor – unplug thick black and red wires at the clear plastic connection piece.
- Switch – unplug the white plastic connector at the end of the orange and green wires.
6. You should now be able to remove the top cover of your unit, keeping all the wires still connected to the control board.
7. Remove the black C-clips from the filter/bypass connection. Pull one side of the black plastic C-clip away from the softener, and slowly roll it towards the other side to remove.
***If the clips seem stuck, slowly and gently rock the softener back and forth slightly while applying pressure to the clip as described above to free them.
8. Go ahead and you can now carefully pull your filtration system away from the bypass assembly.
9. Disconnect the Drain hose by pulling the black clip on the right-hand side of the head up and out.
10. Remove the large white clamps from the tank neck by unhooking the retainer clips that hold them together.
11. With both hands on the valve head, wiggle it side to side as you pull it up and off. Set the valve head to the side.
12. Now you'll remove the rim/tray by unsnapping it from the tank. Then lift it up and set it to the side.
13. Last step here is to pull the current mineral tank up and out and set to the side. Again, the tank is heavy so be careful as you lift it out.
Step 2 - Replace Tank and Reassemble
Time to get the new tank in place and put your system back together.
1. Place the new mineral tank in. You want to position it so it stands straight up and down and doesn't rest at an angle.
2. Grab the rim you removed and snap it back on. This will secure the neck of the mineral tank.
3. You'll want to check the position of the O-ring on the riser tube. It should sit about ¼ inch down from the top of the riser tube.
4. Now you can carefully place the valve head onto the riser tube and push down until it rests on the mineral tank neck.
5. Put the white tank clamps back on and and secure them with the clip.
6. Reconnect your filtration system to the bypass assembly and then attach the black C-clips.
7. Reattach the drain hose to the head.
8. At this point, you'll reconnect the wires to the Motor and Switch. The switch connection should have one exposed terminal/prong.
9. Go ahead and reopen the main water supply.
10. Slowly and carefully pull the unit OUT of bypass, stopping several times to let the water slowly enter the new mineral tank. Once the bypass is open, wait several minutes before moving to the next step.
11. For the last steps here, you'll need to put the top cover back on and run a manual advance check. Hold the Clean button down until the motor turns on, then let go. You should see a clean/recharge message on the screen.
12. Press the Clean button once to advance to the next cycle. Repeat this each time the motor stops until the flashing indicator on the screen disappears, and the home screen returns. Nice work! You've successfully replaced the mineral tank!
