Our reverse osmosis units use carbon filters and an osmosis membrane to reduce dissolved solids, chlorine taste and odor, sediment, microbial cysts, lead, and chemicals.
How does the water flow?
1. Untreated water flows from your cold water supply into the unit through the green supply hose.
2. The water enters the Prefilter first, and then moves into the middle Membrane cartridge.
3. It is then separated in the Membrane - contaminants are rinsed out through the red drain hose, and treated water flows through the yellow hose into the storage tank. This slow and methodical process yields about one ounce of product water per minute.
4. Product water will continue to filter into the tank until it reaches capacity. This water resides in the tank until you are ready to use it.
5. When the faucet is opened, the bladder in the storage tank pushes the water up and back through the yellow hose into the Postfilter for one last cleaning.
6. Finally, the water flows up to the faucet spigot - treated and ready for use.
