The reverse osmosis sanitizing kit allows you to clean the internal parts of your system without doing harm to the existing filters. The kit is reusable and includes everything you need (except the bleach) to perform a full sanitization. Let's get started!
Additional Supplies Needed: 1 oz. of unscented household bleach (5.25%)

Step 1 - Remove Filters
1. You'll want to start by removing your Prefilter cartridge by turning it counterclockwise. The Prefilter is closest to the water feed (or the green hose).
2. Now we need to drain the storage tank. Open/turn on your RO faucet and leave it open as you're working on the next steps.
3. Back on your system, go ahead and remove your RO membrane by turning it counterclockwise. The RO membrane is the center cartridge.
4. Remove the last filter, your Postfilter cartridge, by turning it counterclockwise. You can set all three filters aside.
Step 2 - Attach Sanitization Cartridges
1. First, you'll install the sanitization Postfilter to the postfilter position, closest to the faucet (or blue hose) by twisting it on to the right.
2. Now, install the sanitization RO cartridge in the center position by twisting it on to the right.
3. Find your syringe and fill it with 1 oz. of unscented household bleach (5.25%).
4. You can now slowly squeeze the bleach into the small center hole at the open end of the sanitization Prefilter cartridge.
5. Try to avoid tilting the cartridge downward as you screw it into your RO system now.
6. As soon as the Prefilter is attached, water will begin flowing through the system, and then out your Osmosis faucet. Let the water run until you smell bleach from the Osmosis faucet, then close/shut it off.
7. You'll let the system fill the storage tank for 20 minutes now.
8. After 20 minutes, open/turn on the Osmosis faucet again and let the water run until you can no longer smell bleach (at least 5 minutes).
9. You'll begin to remove the filters now. Remove the sanitization Prefilter cartridge first. Let the faucet run until the storage tank empties.
10. Go ahead and remove the sanitization RO cartridge and Postfilter cartridge.
Step 3 - Reattach Filters
1. You're almost finished! Install your new or existing filters in backwards order - starting with the Postfilter, then RO membrane, then Prefilter.
2. Now you'll want to watch the open Osmosis faucet and shut the faucet off when water begins to trickle steadily (no spurting).
3. If you've installed new filters, you'll need to follow the proper purging instructions here.
4. Last step here is to rinse, dry, and store the RO Sanitization Kit (and syringe) for future use.
