Installation Checklist
We recommend that you create a checklist to ensure you don’t miss any important steps. We've created one for you below but you should also use your Owner's Manual during this process to ensure proper installation:
- Your system can be installed directly under your sink, or remotely if you need more space.
- Keep in mind where you'll be installing the faucet. You may use an existing hole in the sink or need to drill a new one.
- Go ahead and gather your tools according to the Owner’s Manual.
- You'll want to gather and inventory the installation parts and accessories that came with your unit.
- Now, you can turn your cold water supply off and open/turn on your sink faucet to release pressure.
- Install the Cold Water Supply Fitting to your water supply line.
- You're ready to place your Reverse Osmosis Filter Assembly into the preferred location. If mounting the unit, make sure to leave enough room to easily change filters.
- Go ahead and install the storage tank but don't connect the tubing yet.
- Now, determine the sink top location for the faucet if you haven't already.
- Install the faucet onto the hole.
- Time to cut the tubes to your desired length and connect appropriately to the unit, supply, and tank.
- Last step here is to route the red tube to a nearby drain, such as a laundry sink or floor drain. Make sure you leave an air gap of at least 1 1/2" between the red hose and the drain. Then follow the instructions in the next section to get your new RO unit ready for use. Pro Tip: When installing the unit in a remote location, the black tube isn't necessary and can be discarded.
Sanitize, Test, and Purge Checklist
Continue to follow the Owner's Manual carefully when performing the next steps.
- Sanitize your system with household bleach as described in Step G of the Owner’s Manual.
- Open your water supply to Pressure test the system for about 2 hours and examine for leaks.
- Purge your new unit. This rinses out any carbon fines or loose material from the filter cartridges.
