We're sorry to hear your RO system is leaking. Below, we've outlined some some basic troubleshooting steps to determine the cause of the leaking. This information applies to model BRDROS.
Where is the leak coming from?
Filter Connections
If the leak is coming from inside the housing, we'll need to locate the source.
A couple things to try:
- Pre or Post Filter - Swap the Pre/Post Filters around and see if the leak follows a filter. If it does, that Filter needs replacing. If the leak stays in the same spot, the Manifold/Head Assembly needs to be replaced. Visit our Replacement Parts article.
- Middle Filter - Replace the middle filter and see if the leak continues. If it does, the Manifold/Head Assembly needs replacing. Visit our Replacement Parts article.
Hose Connections
If it's leaking from the red or green hoses:
- You'll need to turn the water off to the system and remove the leaking hose from the connection. Cut a clean square end. Then reconnect and turn on the water supply again.
To remove hose:
- Check for leaks. If it's still leaking, you'll need to replace the Collet and O-ring. Visit our Replacement Parts article.
If it's leaking from the yellow hose:
- You'll need to turn the water off to the system and then turn your faucet on to let the tank empty. We need to release the pressure on the unit, otherwise it may be messy.
- When the tank is empty you'll remove the leaking hose from the connection (pictured below). Inspect the hose and see if you notice any nicks, scratches or rough spots.
To remove hose:
- Cut a clean square end. Then reconnect the hose by giving it an extra hard push into the system to confirm it's inserted all the way.
- Now you can turn on the water supply again. You'll want to watch for leaks here. If it's still leaking, you'll need to replace the Collet and O-ring. Visit our Replacement Parts article.
If it's leaking from the blue hose:
- You'll want to remove the post filter first. Then you can remove the hose.
To remove hose:
- Cut a clean square end. Then reconnect the hose by giving it an extra hard push into the system to confirm it's inserted all the way.
- Now you can reattach the postfilter and turn on the water supply again. You'll want to watch for leaks here. If it's still leaking, you'll need to replace the Collet and O-ring. Visit our Replacement Parts article.
Faucet
If the water is leaking from the hole on the faucet base, visit our Leaking Air Gap article. If the faucet is leaking from the spigot or elsewhere, you may need to replace the faucet. Visit our Replacement Parts article.
Automatic Shut Off Cover
This cover is located near the hose connections, and its held on by 6 screws in a square formation. Water leaking under this cover likely means your Diaphragm Kit needs replacing. Visit our Replacement Parts article.
