Need to replace the manifold on your purifying or filtration system? We've got you! The manifold is the main connection point on your system, housing the filter cartridges and tubing. Let's gets started on replacing it!
Before You Start
- Optional Supplies: Towel & Scissors
- If your filters are over 6 months old, we recommend installing new filters during this process.
- This article applies to models: BRDTSS, BRDWPS. If you have a Reverse Osmosis system, please click here.
Disassemble
1. First, you'll want to start by turning the cold-water supply off to the system. Have a towel nearby in case of any drips from leftover water in the hoses.
2. We need to allow the unit to depressurize so go ahead and open/turn on the filtered water faucet at the sink.
3. When the water stops flowing you'll remove the yellow water supply hose from the manifold by pushing IN on the yellow collet, and pulling OUT on the yellow hose:
4. Remove the blue hose from the manifold in the same way.
5. Now you'll remove all your filter cartridges by turning them counter clockwise, and set the old manifold to the side.
Reassemble
1. Before you connect your hoses to the new manifold make sure the ends don't have any scratches or tears on them. If needed, give your hoses a new square cut so they'll connect securely.
2. Grab your new manifold and you can attach the hoses now to the appropriately colored collet connections. Make sure to push the hoses in as far as possible.
3. Time to attach your filters. You'll need to attach them in reverse order - starting closest to the blue hose. You'll turn them clockwise to secure them. Go ahead and use your previous ones if they're under 6 months old, otherwise use new filters.
4. Now, make sure your water faucet is closed and then you can turn the cold-water supply back on. At this point, you'll want to watch for any leaking.
5. If you installed new filters onto the system, you'll need to 'purge' the system. All you need to do is open/turn on the filtered water faucet and leave it on for 10 minutes. This will rinse out any loose particles or carbon fines before you drink the water. Once done, you're good to go!
